Parenting is a paper-based role-playing game for consumer science, 7th through 12th grade youth groups, and other classroom situations as well as parents-to-be, baby showers, and pre-marriage counselling.

Each player creates a basic environment to raise their baby, specifically whether the player will work outside the home or stay home with their child, whether to breastfeed their baby, and whether to purchase health insurance for their child.

Each player then attends to the needs of their child for a day – feeding, changing, nap/bedtime, etc.  However, as the “parent” attempts to do this, the “baby” responds back in random but life-based ways.  This affects the time it takes, how much food is wasted, etc.

In addition to meeting their child’s basic needs, the parent must also deal with shopping, medical situations, child-proofing, their own stress, and more.

There are two versions of PARENTING, one for small adult groups and one for classrooms and large groups.
